A long way from one store
I did not come from money. I came from parents who worked, and a belief that I could figure it out.
Everything I have built came from being in the room every day, learning the numbers myself, and refusing to take shortcuts I could not explain to my kids. No investors. No safety net. Just the work.
What changed everything was getting my ego out of the way. The moment I stopped needing to be the smartest person in my company, the company got better, and so did I. That is the part I want people to take from my story.
